Welcome to Light the Hall!
The Official Flemington Lyceum Society Website

This is a space for neighbors to come together, ask big questions, and imagine a brighter future for our town. Each month, we host a lecture or conversation centered on civic life. From how Main Street shapes our identity to how public spaces bring us together. We'll dig into the town's history and see where we've been. We'll learn about the here and now to understand who we are as a community. And we will explore where we are going and what is possible for the future of Flemington.
These talks are informal, inclusive, and open to all. Whether you have a story to share, a topic to suggest, or just want to help with food, music, or planning, there’s a place for you here.
Interested in being part of it? Reach out to Councilman Jeremy Long at jlong@historicflemington.com or call/text 609-608-2763. Let’s build something meaningful, together.

“From all the divisions, ranks and classes of society, we are to meet...to instruct and to be instructed. While we mingle together in these pursuits...we shall remove many of the prejudices which ignorance or partial acquaintance with each other fostered."
—Thomas Greene, address to the first meeting of the New Bedford Lyceum, 1828 (quoted in The American Lyceum: Town Meeting of the Mind by Carl Bode)
